Second Subway Opens in Crozet Posted 10/16/2009
Sid and Anjana Tripathi of Charlottesville opened a second Subway
sandwich shop in Crozet Oct. 16 across from Harris Teeter in the Blue
Ridge Shopping Center. They also own the store in the Fruit Growers
buildings in downtown Crozet, which they have operated for 10 years.
“For now we are leaving both stores open,” Sid said. “We’ll see how
they do. But we’re 99 percent sure they are both going to make it.”
The couple also own Subway stores in Lake Monticello, Scottsville,
Forest Lakes and on Avon and Emmett Streets in Charlottesville, as well
as a Dairy Queen store in Forest Lakes. They immigrated from India in
the 1980s and have two daughters.
Their soft opening day was spent mainly on staff training. Anjana
will be at the store until it’s on its feet. They expect to start
offering breakfast in November. Its hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays
through Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 9. p.m. on Sundays.
